You will be charged a minimum of $350.00 if you break the cover. Keep the cover closed when not in use to keep the tub hot. Do not use bath oil or bubble bath in the hot tub. This will require repairs, which will be billed to your credit card or against your security deposit. Outdoor swimming pools are available in season at the Chalet Village North Clubhouse, located ¼ mile from the cabin. You will find guest passes in the cabin and you must leave them there when you depart.

Fireplace: Our cabin is equipped with a wood-burning fireplace. We furnish wood generally during the months of October through April. We don’t provide kindling and/or fire starter logs. Be certain the flue is open in the fireplace prior to starting a fire. Keep spark screen in place at all times. You are responsible for any damages caused by your use of the fireplace.

Smoking: We do not permit smoking in our cabin. If you must smoke, please use only the paved areas outside the cabin. Do not smoke on the decks. Please do not leave cigarette butts on the ground outside our cabin.

Pet Policy: Due to family and guest allergies, we cannot allow any pets in our cabin. If we discover that you have brought a pet into our cabin, we will charge you for a full cleaning and sanitizing, which may run up to $400.00.

Television, Telephone and Internet: Our cabin has Charter Digital Cable TV with about 85 channels and about 50 music channels. We do not offer premium or pay-per-view channels. Television, VCR or DVD wiring may not be changed to facilitate use of games, etc. Our cabin also has unlimited local and long distance telephone service, and broadband wireless Internet access. Guests accept all responsibilities for use of the Internet through our unsecured wireless connection.

Conduct: Our cabin is located in an area where there are permanent Gatlinburg residents as well as other vacationers. Please be considerate and courteous. We expect you to have fun but we also request that noise be kept to a minimum during early mornings and late evenings, particularly around the deck area. We do not allow parties or large gatherings, and no more than the maximum number of guests listed may be in the cabin. Violations may result in immediate eviction. Please treat our cabin with respect and be aware that any damage you cause will be charged to you.

Trash: We have installed a bear-proof trash bin at our cabin for a reason. Please do not leave any trash outside the cabin unless it is placed securely in the bin. You are responsible for clean-up if a bear gets into the trash. Please do not throw trash off the decks. The woods are not a garbage dump! We usually make trash pickups at the end of your stay. For stays of longer than four days, you may call for an extra pickup (phone number will be located in the cabin).

Insects, Pests and Bears: Though a professional pest control company regularly treats our cabin, please remember that you’re in the mountains. Ladybugs, wasps, other insects — and bears — visit our cabin. In the event of a major bug infestation, there is a phone number in the cabin to call so we can attempt to solve the problem while you are there. And remember, bears are wild animals. Never try to get close to them or feed them. They will attack!

Maintenance: We do everything possible to keep all equipment in good working order. However, it is impossible to guarantee that all appliances, hot tub, hot water heaters, fireplace, TVs and other electronic equipment, etc. will work 100% of the time. We will make every effort to correct all deficiencies as soon as possible during normal business hours. Please notify us of any existing damage upon your arrival. Report all maintenance problems by calling the appropriate phone number located in the cabin. In the event we must perform maintenance during your stay, we will do our best to not inconvenience you.

Utility Services: We cannot control cable, telephone, electric and water service, so we cannot guarantee their 100% service. We can’t make refunds for interruption in service beyond our control.

Mail & Messages: Our cabin has residential telephone service (free local and long distance calls). We will provide the number with your rental confirmation, and we suggest you give it to relatives and emergency contacts. There is no mail service to our cabin, but you can get overnight delivery if you are willing to remain at the cabin to wait for your package.

Lost and Found & Personal Property: We are not responsible for personal property left behind, stolen or damaged during your stay. Never leave valuables unattended. Be sure to lock the cabin whenever you leave. If you find you have left something behind, send an e-mail to angie@smokiesrentdirect.com and we will try to locate the missing item. If we locate the item, we will return it to you COD. Items unclaimed more than 14 days will be disposed of or given to charity.

When You Leave: In order to provide all our guests with the most efficient service, we ask that you help us when you leave by doing the following:

  • Put all wet towels and wash cloths in the nearest bath tub.  Leave beds unmade but do not remove bed linens.
  • Run the dishwasher with all your dirty dishes and put the clean dishes away.
  • Be sure you haven’t left any food in the house – check cabinets and the refrigerator.
  • Be sure all outside doors are locked, both the deadbolt and the lock on the knob, if applicable.
  • Be sure the wood bin is locked (if you used it).
  • Turn out all lights (leave only the night lights burning).
  • Be sure to put the Clubhouse pass back in the Welcome Notebook where you found it.
  • Be sure the outside key is in the key box.
  • Sign our guestbook.
  • If any items need repair or maintenance, please leave a note on the kitchen island counter.
